Warnings: Painfully short
Reds, purples, oranges, yellows...The sky was a beautiful mixture, a pallet, it's own magnificent spectrum. Wide eyes watched childishly as the colours swirled and danced upon fluffy clouds and open sky.
Two figures were sat on a patch of grass; near a tree, watching the sky without caring that the wet grass was soaking through their clothes or that the breeze was starting to carry a chill.
"It's beautiful." an awed whisper proclaimed, "I've never seen anything like it."
An arm came around the younger man's waist, pulling him close to another warm body.
Shinya leant his head against Die's chest with a contented sigh, looking up at his friends face-tinted with the glow of the setting sun. Everything about the scene was so beautiful. So perfect.
"Thank you." Shinya whispered, still looking up at Die.
Die cast his eyes down from the beautiful sky to return Shinya's gaze, "For what?"
"For showing me the sunset. It's beautiful."
Die smiled, "I told you it was good from here."
"You did."
"I also told you that I never lied."
"Yeah, you did."
Die ran his fingers through Shinya's soft hair, "You are far more beautiful then any sunset."
Shinya blushed, "I thought you didn't tell lies?"
"I don't." Die stated simply.
Shinya smiled and buried his face in Die's shoulder, "You're so cheesy."
"You love me for it." Die grinned.
"Maybe." Shinya mumbled cheekily. He sat up and looked at Die, "I love you for so much more then your cheesy-ness"
"That's good to know." Die chuckled, "Because I love you more then anything on this planet."
Shinya smiled and pecked Die's lips, "Do you mean that?"
"With all of my heart."
They sat quietly, watching the sky chase the last of the sun's light. When the stars began to show, Die cleared his throat.
"Shinya, I really want to ask you something."
"Yeah?"
Die took a deep breath and turned to Shinya. His friend, his lover, his soulmate...
"You know that I love you, right?"
"As much as I love you."
Die fumbled with one of his pockets and pulled out a small box. Shinya's heart stopped beating.
"I want to spend all of my life with you." Die said softly, "I want to be yours forever..." he looked into Shinya's eyes, "Will you marry me?"
Shinya watched as Die opened the box, the soft, silvery moonlight falling upon the contents, making it shine brighter then any diamond in the sky. Shinya couldn't even breath any more. His heart was beating so fast he felt it would explode out of his chest. His head spun.
"Yes."
Die choked and kissed Shinya gently on the lips, radiating all f the love he felt in that one, chaste kiss. He pulled back and slipped the ring onto Shinya's hand.
"I love you so much."
The whispers were carried by the breeze as they made eternal promises with the sky as their witness.
