I'm reading this book called Captivating, and it is about the mystery of the woman's soul- what makes us girls...well, us. It really makes me think.

This is what women want:
We want to be called beautiful. We want to be held high in a man's eyes, fought for and loved forever. We yearn to be praised. Not in any prideful or conceited way, however. Our hearts were made for this. We want to be told our voices are beautiful, or our hair is gorgeous, or we smell good, or our eyes are breathtaking. Yet, we also want to be strong. We want to be warriors-feminine warriors. We don't have to join the military or be all butch to prove this. We just want to be wanted. Is that so hard to ask?

And every woman still holds in her heart that yearning to be a child, still. We want to twirl around in cute dresses and do our hair and go to expensive restaurants and feel like princesses. We want to walk around barefoot in the rain, taking in God's artwork- the nature all around us. We want to lay in a field of beautiful flowers, staring up at the sky as it erupts in different colors- pink, purple, orange, yellow... we want to lay in our backyards in the crisp green grass, staring into the dark sky filled with specs of bright lights known as stars. The simple things are what make us so filled with joy, and that is exactly how God made us. To be loved, to be wanted, to be simple little girls, and to be warriors. Princess warriors. Again, is that so hard to ask?
