Oh this movie.
What can I say about it....well it's interesting to put it mildly. Even if there was a lot of Fesen referencing, it still made my Louis/Antoinette loving little heart happy because there was a lot of adorable snugglyness between the two of them. (And the pseudo angry sex in the tent, but I already posted things from that). Although there was one really weird part where Louis was like...flirting with these ladies they met in the country while they were taking a break from their journey, and Antonette was very visibly peeved. And she yelled at him for it later and they got into a fight.
And I just typed Louis and flirting in the same sentence. That is so weird.
Anyway, here are some lovely pictures, which I finalyl found a way to resize so they do not break the layout! First all the pictures I found online.
Louis and Antoinette
In the carriage being taken from Versailles to the tuileries. The left hand side is Madame de Tourzel, Therese and Antoinette, and the right is Louis, Charles, and Madame Elisabeth.
Antoinette looking out the window
Everyone huddled together during the mob's assault on Versailles
I don't think the crazies actually got THIS close to all of the royal family together, but Louis is being badass in this picture so it's all good.
Now for my screenshots, and pardon the blurry on some of them. The movie makes it look the the storming of Versailles occured while the king was out hutning, and then he comes in from a side door and everyone's surprised he's there and he grabs onto Antoinette and pulls her behind him *points to picture above this one* Then that happens.
They're really kind of adorable. Seriously, they are. He's comforting her because she's worried during their escape. Also she has epic hair in this.
This is just as they're about to get into a fight over the flirting I mentioned earlier. Did I mention epic hair yet?
This was just really sweet. Best pillow ever.
At the start of the escape, everyone was there but Antoinette and Tourzel, and Louis says he's going to find her despite people telling him to stay there and wait. Some guards start accosting her and Tourzel thinking they're hookers or something, and they shove them off and she cries out. He goes running and then there's snuggles.
This part is from a scene where she sweeps into the forge while he's working, really pissed off about a bunch of the nasty pamphlets going around about her. He takes them from her and chucks them onto one of the fires, and then she turns away because she's quite upset. I really like the one of their hands for some reason.
This was from a cute bit where they were all bouncing across the carriage from one side to another, even Elisabeth was doing it, not just the kids. And Antoinette ended up in his lap at one point for a minute too.
Charles wearing papa's hat
And just because I can, I end with two last shots of the tent scene.
