Flowers, and dinner.

John and Stark had been working hard lately, and now they had time off. So he made dinner for her, something simple as she was teaching him to cook. He also got her favorite flowers, and he set it out as a surprise as she put their son to bed.

She padded back downstairs to check on him and was surprised to see everything. "What?" she said. "John...you didn't have to do this."

"You always cook for me, so wanted to surprise. Now granted it's nothing special. Just chicken, corn, and mashed potatoes." He smiled over at her.

"Still, I appreciate the effort." She blushed. "It's just something I can do. You work your ass off all day."

"So do you Sweetheart." He greeted her with a kiss.

"Somewhat." She kissed him gently. "Thank you."

"I love you sweetheart." He smiled and plated the food.

"I know you do, John." She smiled. "You don't have to prove that."

"Still that smile on your face when i do something for you? It's the best thing in the world." He set the plates down, and poured them both something to drink.

She blushed. "You are amazing."

"And so are you sweetheart, and we have the most beautiful little boy ever." He pulled her chair out for her, and smiled.

She sat down and beamed at him. "That's all you, John," she said. "I honestly hadn't seriously considered a family until you said that you wanted one."

"And you are an amazing mother." He kissed her softly before walking over to his chair.

"I don't know about amazing, but I try." She smiled shyly. "So far, so good."

"I know. And Neal is happy, so we are doing perfect already." He smiled.

She smiled. "You're such an optimist."

"I know my wife well." He smiled gently.
