I just got some good news! my mom called and told me that she was checking my Southeastern Account, and she saw that my appeal was approved! i didn't think i was going to get it approved, because i didn't have a documented excuse (that was beyond my control), for falling below the required GPA.
The lady, at the front desk, of the Financial Aid Department, turned me away the first time i brought in the appeal. she told me i need documentation bla bla bla. she told me to come back when i had all the proper paper work.
i thought about it for a real long time.. and i couldn't come up with any excuse that i could show paper work for (like dr's notes etc). I was just honest. I told them how i had poor study habits, and i had low attendance, etc. i even used you girls as an excuse HA! i said i lived with people who de-motivated me. LOL
i showed documentation that my study habits changed, by giving them copies of my blackboard grades. i showed them how i made a 101 average when the rest of the class was struggling to make a C (Bio 106). and i told them how i don't live with the same people anymore. ha-ha. i told them to check my attendence, because i only missed 2 classes all semester, and some other things like that.
i turned it in, inside of a white envolope so that, that lady couldn't turn me away! it worked i guess.
point of the story: they gave me $2050 pell GRANT!!! and they approved me for a $3500 loan! not sure if i'm gonna use that. but it's great to know i have it, if i need it. my tuition was only $1700 this semseter :)
