I'm am loving
Tim Gunn's podcast! He cracks my shit up -- I'm in stitches.
I also joined

So, the challenge was to design a woman's garment inspired by a hot fashion accessory -- a dog! Not just any dog, but a little designer dog, how fitting. So cute. A poodle, a corgi, a shitzu, a pug, and I don't even know what else. Tim mentioned in his podcast how each designer picked a breed that looked a lot like them. That was so true!
Kayne took offense at Laura's comment concerning his and Robert's respective prints. She said, "Mine is so tasteful compared to yours." That was kind of rude, but I definitely liked his response that she was confusing taste for style. I loved Kayne's Missoni print, it was gorgeous. Laura's designs are nice and tasteful, but in the end, they won't take her to the top. Kayne's dress, and the jacket, were just superb. I really hope he sticks around. *crosses fingers*
Robert's print was very Chanel (which was his dog's name too), and his story was hilarious -- Park Ave. princess checking into rehab...of course, he was kidding because he "hates" stories. I thought that was kind of a funny thing to say considering he designed for Barbie! Barbie is all about make believe worlds and trying to create a theme -- Career Barbie, It-Girl Barbie, College Barbie, etc. Maybe he hates stories because he's had to work in that world for so long. In the end, Robert's outfit was nice, but not really beautiful.
Bradley was having trouble from the start. I'm not sure why he changed his design, and I didn't see a huge difference in the sketch and his end result. I can't believe he was in the top three! Kayne's dress was so much better. I was shocked. I think it was good enough to be safe, but not good enough for the top three. Tim said it wonderfully on his podcast -- it's a matter of taste. The judges obviously disagreed, but Nina seemed to like Bradley's garment the best. She even said she would publish it in Elle.
Jeffrey is so wrong. I take his cockiness as a form of true insecurity. It's not that he's delusional (like Vincent), I think he knows that he's not quite posh enough for the judges' collective tastes, so he tries to hide behind his rock star persona. I didn't have a huge problem with his design last night. I actually thought it was feminine and flowy, and I can even say pretty.
Vincent is batshit crazy! He actually barked during his frenzy of doggie hat laughter. Tim was like, we're back with the hat. Vincent must have a hat fetish or something. I think he spends too much time on ridiculous details. His days are numbered -- or at least I hope. I didn't like his design at all.
Keith was on spot with his Bradley and Angela critiques. But what was up with the sewing machine drama? He kind of creeped me out when he called Laura "bad mommy". Regardless, Keith's dress was just gorgeous! I loved it. For a men's designer, he has some mad dress designing skills. I would have never guessed that he only designed men's clothing. Last year, you could tell that Emmett was uncomfortable with the dresses, but Keith is most definitely not. He's good, but he's kind of an ass. And not in the Santino way, but in a more arrogant because "I'm SO MUCH better (and better looking) than all of you" way. I loved the color and print of his dress. He should have just made a stupid outfit for the dog. I mean, what a jerk. Heidi kind of gave him a slap-down. And what a lyer! He didn't make squat for the dog. Alison was rolling her eyes, like whatever!
Uli's dress was very pretty. She has a real vision. Not many people could take two completely different fabrics and mix them so well. I was really impressed. But I'm not impressed with her model. Her boobs are big -- bigger than most rail-thin models -- and I just think she needs a bit more support in the bust. It bothered me last week, and it bothered me last night. I don't have big boobs (they're just average), but I never go without a bra. I just can't do it.
Angela is just UGH!! I can't stand her. Her outfit was preposterous. I agree with almost all of the comments I've seen so far, that she is either damn lucky or still there because the producers want more controversy.
Alison's outfit was so cute! It looked so much like her, and like the poodle. I really liked the white, even though I'm not a huge fan of fancy dress white. She was clearly upset that she didn't win the challenge, but if she keeps it up, she'll win one. I want to see more of her.
Katherine....well, that's too bad for her. I thought it was interesting that the bottom of her dress looked unfinished, much like Malan's dress last week. I wonder if that had anything to do with her own finishing skills? She obviously wasn't able to help him "make it work" like a good partner should. It's true that he cut the hem too short, and that was his mistake. But her dress this week made me think twice about her contribution to his design last week. Anyway, I wish her well.
Bonnie's was kind of uninspired to me, but maybe that's because of the black and white. It was pretty, I guess. I didn't get a good look at it.
Michael's dress was in my top three. It was so beautiful! Why wasn't he in the top three? Why? Look at that dress, the cut, the color, the fit. I loved it.
Laura's design was predictable. 'Nuff said.
I wonder who's getting auf'd next week. Hmmm....so much suspense! I think someone probably tried to finish up their garment after hours, or maybe messed with the sewing machines (Tim mentioned that in his last podcast), or maybe it's the whole drama with Keith's sketches. Who knows. I hope the promo is a red herring and it's not Kayne. That would really suck.

I spent a little bit of time reading the TWOP boards on SYTYCD's episode last night, and I noticed that
some fans are angry about Heidi and Benji being paired up. Personally, I really wanted to see them dance -- and I wasn't disappointed. They were SO good! Did they have an unfair advantage? Maybe. It's true that they've been dancing together for years and they have a close relationship because they're cousins, but the dance community (from what I've gathered) is pretty tight-knit, and finding two great ballroom dancers who haven't partnered at some point is not that easy. Plus, Heidi and Dmitri were partners when Benji was on his "mission" or whatever. So that could have been a problem as well. AND...who says Allison and Ivan didn't have an unfair advantage by getting paired up again.
Anyway, it was a good show. I didn't much enjoy Donyelle's and Travis's routines, but that's not really their fault. I also noticed on the boards that Donyelle fans were up in arms over the apparent bias against her last night. She didn't perform that well, so I'm not sure why they would think that. I hate the quick step -- it seems like the pair stuck with it is doomed for failure. The hip-hop routine was good, I thought, but not very clean. I guess that was due to the masks? I don't know. I still like Allison, Benji, or Travis to win. I think Natalie is talented, but she's not my favorite. I hope Donyelle stays so we can see more of her; she's a great dancer and performer when she's on her game.
The fastest mambo ever. It was amazingly fabulous, just perfection! They were so GOOD! I watched it over and over and over again. Heidi and Benji -- I don't care if they're experienced partners -- were the best couple last night. Makes me want to go watch the tour. I hope it comes to Texas.

So, when did everyone stop talking about Toothy Tile? I haven't heard anything in a while, so I'm assuming his identity is still a mystery.
