So You Think You Can Dance
Last night was the elimination show -- one boy and one girl had to say goodbye. I have to admit, I was surprised at the results.
Dmitri has consistently gotten by because the judges have saved him. This makes me wonder if America has been voting for him in record low numbers all along! He's been in the bottom three so many freakin' times. I like Dmitri, but he's definitely not as versatile as some of the other guys. Benji is a swing dancer, but he's done an awesome job at almost every style given to him. His personality has largely kept him out of the bottom three, but you can't deny his talent. I wish Dmitri the very best, with or without his shirt.
Ryan, on the other hand, better show more than his talent next week. He's so guarded. When he thought he was getting booted off, he was fearless. I wish he would bring that fearlessness to all of his performances, because he is amazingly talented as a dancer.
For the guys, it's going to be between Benji and Travis. Both have back-stories and both are talented, but who will win?
I like Allison and Natalie for the final two girls. Both completely blow my mind, although Allison has been more consistent for me. I like her better, but I see Natalie's appeal. Natalie was in the bottom two last night, so she might not make it another week. She has to work on defining who she wants to be as a personality and as a dancer.
Heidi and Donyelle are both amazing. Donyelle might actually be in the top two with Allison -- she's proven herself time and time again, and she's an audience favorite. I wasn't overly impressed with her dancing this week, though. She's absolutely gorgeous.
Martha was doomed. I felt like she was thrilled to be going home. Her heart's been out of this competition for a few weeks now. I wish her well.
I'm really into this show! I don't want to post this on _sytycd_ because they all intimidate me! They're mostly dancers and I always feel like my thoughts are superficial. Oh well, that's why I have you guys! Not that you're all superficial, but you know...
