I've heard someone today ask Ghiglione if they would potentially curve the midterm. The answer? No.

Of course, if you want to uphold the reputation of Medill as a tough school and fail half of the H&I class, I guess there is no better way to do it.

I think we all emphasized how much we appreciate the efforts Medill is making to change. Expect we don't need changes for Medill 2020. We need them now.

It is surprising how controversial Medill is. As a journalism school, one might expect freedom of speech to be a fundamental value, but in the light of all the Facebook drama from last year, there seems like censorship isn't quite relegated to the 19th century.

Our profession is going through great changes. And as much as learning about our past is important, getting ready for our future is essential. And knowing that James and Ben Franklin owned the New England Courant pre-Declaration of Independence is not exactly what I call essential.

Sure, culture is very important. But the professors must open their eyes and realize that all the knowledge they have accumulated during years CANNOT be assimilated in 11 weeks by 200 students. We can't associate 100+ names with which newspaper they edited which year. It is close to physically impossible.

Unless this is actually a class aimed to filter the Medill population and make as many kids as possible drop out, I think there is some serious change that should take place. This forum is made for the students to communicate with Medill, but so far I haven't seen any answers from the staff regarding the real dilemma which is this class.

Something needs to be done.I do not want to have to tell my children that I am a H&I veteran.
