So, the country is in a state of emergency. And we're having pizza and margaritas in the office at 2 in the afternoon. How nice. Just shows to people how much our lives here are affected by this 'big event' in the history of the Philippines. Well, too bad I don't really care. I don't even understand why the people are rallying in the streets. What do they hope to achieve by doing so? What have they achieved? Well for one thing, this whole state of emergency bit which really pisses me off since the MRT is now closed and I'll be lucky to get a cab home tonight. Its all business as usual- eat, drink, finish your work so you can be merry.
I head offices were closing in Makati and people were made to go home early, but I'm still sitting here finishing my job. I went out for a bit and saw people in edsa, the whole atmosphere was extremely different. Everything seems so electric and dangerous from mega to edsa but after you cross through the parking lot in podium, its like you go back to a world of normal. Its probably because this area is isolated and business focused.
What does it do? Rallying and all that? I think that unless you have support from all sectors this is soemthig totally useless. I don't care about GMA, I don't care if the President changes or if it remains the same. As long as there is no war or some abnormally huge event that rocks my world, life goes on and la dee dah.
Apathy. Yes, I am a product of Ateneo.
