finally a turnaround
i've decided that i have very little design skills. i'm trying to put together a website-portfolio deal for my pictures, but, i just can't do it! layouts and design are not in my umm... realm of creativity. they're just not. so, yeah, if anyone out there wants to help me umm, fix up my myspace layout or help me to put together a website let me know! i can pay you with a photoshoot. ;) lol.
in other news, i was surfing through flickr getting inspired and at the same time further humbling myself. some of these artists are SO talented and at a level i'm so far away from but, their pictures just move me to be better. i love how the really dedicated photographers have such a distinct style. i love styles. well, during my surfing i came across this picture:

i fricken inspired someone! =) totally made my day. i wanna say "after all these years i've finally inspired someone" but... it's only been a year. hahaha. of all my photos on flickr... it's lora reaching through the laptop and kevin holding the translucent newspaper that get the most views. these were actually only 'tests' to see if i had the capability to create a translucent image. now, me inspiring someone has inspired me to take a whack at translucent images again. any takers?
i was making a post the other day about how i cry all the time for anything that even slightly touches your heart. i had seen a chipmunk scurrying across the road only to be flattened by an SUV... i cried for it. the post ended up being way too fricken long and... kinda personal so i privated it. hahaha, but, yeah, one thing i wanted to share was rihanna's song unfaithful.
in one day i went from absolutely loving the song and crying my eyes out to being completely sick of the song as a result of hearing it at least 9 times during my drive to and from chicago. x_X
despite its... sort of suckiness the lyrics are hard hitting. the phrasing is all weird but the message is perfect.
i was listening to some criticism on the song. basically one guy was saying that comparing herself to a murderer was stupid. this guy had OBVIOUSLY never been cheated on 'cause then he would know how right ms. rihanna is.
so, that's my story. i cry for everything. hahaha. feeling sad but unable to shed tears of sorrow? just tell me your story and i'll cry for you. lol.
hmm, speaking of cheaters... hahaha.
a couple weeks ago (before he left for france) kevin and i had recorded a few songs. we tried to record fiona apple's paper bag but we weren't getting the perfection we wanted. so, i figured, we should do a "live" performance. 'cause, you get a lot of leeway when you perform live. so, we decided to do one take in the form of a video.
xanga people get to see it directly, but, LJ doesn't let me... so, lj-users will have to click the link. well, it only let's me if my video is on youtube... which it's not 'cause youtube really crap-ifies the things i upload. but, yeah, enjoy. *side note: i'm constantly looking down because my laptop was sitting at the edge of the bed with all the tabs and chords for the song. ^_^
