REAL NAME: Derrick Robert D******

STAGE NAME (if you use one): Derrick D****** works fine. I like it.

LAST SHOW YOU ADDED TO YOUR RESUME: MacBeth...cuz everyone is going to be in it so it's safe to add.

LAST SHOW YOU AUDITIONED FOR: MacBeth today.

DID YOU GET INTO IT: Um, we know we will.

LAST SONG YOU USED AT AN AUDITION: Last song I sang at an audition was "Agony" at the WOODS audition, last one I chose to sing myself was "Pretty Women" from SWEENEY TODD for the company auditions.

THE NAME OF YOUR NEWEST FRIEND: Quite a few actually, but Anna comes to mind first!

FAVORITE THEATRE (VENUE): That I worked backstage at and wish I was on stage at...San Jose Center for the Performing Arts, aka CPA. That I actually performed on, I guess I have a strange liking for the PACT one now.

ACTOR,DANCER,SINGER, LIST ACCORDING TO YOU: Dancer, Singer, Actor

FAVORITE PLAYS: Don't know many but I love Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, The Laramie Project, and Noises Off.

FAVORITE MUSICALS: Into The Woods, Sweeney Todd, Funny Girl, Gypsy, Big River, Wicked, Hello, Dolly!, Fiddler on the Roof, The Pirates of Penzance, Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, Dreamgirls, many more I'm sure...

FAVORITE ROLE FROM A SHOW THAT YOU'VE BEEN IN: I'm actually realling loving just being a part of Into the Woods right now (as Cinderella's Father), and just being the dancing carpet in Beauty and the Beast was awesome. Before that I loved playing Kurt von Trapp in The Sound of Music, the quartet tenor in The Music Man, and the Boy in The Velveteen Rabbit.

FAVORITE ROLE FROM A SHOW THAT YOU HAVE NOT DONE: First and foremost I want to play Baker, Cinderella's Prince, Rapunzel's Prince, Wolf, Narrator, and Mysterious Man (Into the Woods) all before I die, and then also Anthony (Sweeney Todd), Tulsa (Gypsy), Huckleberry Finn (Big River), Enjolras (Les Miserables), Ziegfeld Tenor or Eddie (Funny Girl), Fiyero or Boq (Wicked), chorus (Mamma Mia), and I admit, Phantom or Raoul (The Phantom of the Opera). In my dreams I wanna play Fanny Brice (Funny Girl) more than anything, and also Little Red (Into the Woods), Eponine (Les Miserables), Elphaba (Wicked), and Effie White (Dreamgirls).

NAME A THEATRE SUPERSTITION: saying MacBeth? That's kinda hard to avoid right now though...

NAME A THEATRE TRADITION: Energy circles!

LAST PART YOU PLAYED IN A SHOW: Carpet / Egg Man in Beauty and the Beast...currently Cinderella's Father in Into the Woods

ARE YOU EQUITY OR NON-EQUITY: Non. Plan on racking up my points eventually here though.

YOUR GOAL IN SHOW BUSINESS: Ultimate, Broadway...tour, just as good...just AMT, I'd be content and feel I've made it!

WOULD YOU... (you know what) IN ORDER TO GET A PART: I probably WOULD if he was hott, LOL...

HAVE YOU EVER...TO GET A PART or SHOW: Hahaha um no.

FAVORITE DIRECTOR: Kathy Burch (West Valley Light Opera, HELLO, DOLLY!)

FAVORITE CHOREOGRAPHER: Michael MacLaren (West Valley Light Opera, HELLO, DOLLY!)

WHAT WAS YOUR VERY FIRST SHOW: The Velveteen Rabbit, as a rabbit the first time, not the Boy

NAME SOMEONE FROM A PAST SHOW YOU MISS: Kathy Burch!

HAVE YOU EVER HAD A DANCE SOLO: Sure, if jumping over brooms or somersaulting once or twice counts

HAVE YOU EVER HAD A SINGING SOLO: Sure, but not a full song to myself as an adult

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN THE LAST PERSON TO TAKE A BOW: No :( Now that I think of it though, I wonder if I was second-to-last in The Velveteen Rabbit (the second time) hmmm...

NAME A SHOW YOU'VE DONE MORE THAN TWO TIMES: None more than two...yet. Into The Woods I need to do at least six more times though

HAVE YOU BEEN TO NEW YORK: Yes and I saw The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway and it sucked compared to San Francisco!

HAVE YOU BEEN TO LA: Of course

SCARIEST PART OF AN AUDITION: Comparing yourself to those also auditioning, and also the wait afterwards until there's a cast list

BEST PART OF AN AUDITION: If I have to choose a best part, I'm tempted to say the whole experience. It's a love-hate thing really. The best part is a happy cast list I guess. Which doesn't happen much for me. :(

NAME A SHOW YOU WOULD NEVER DO AGAIN: I'd do any of them again professionally! But um, Circles of Love or whatever the original piece my high school director wrote was? Ya. No thanks.

NAME A SHOW YOU COULD DO FOR YEARS: Into The Woods

NAME A SHOW YOU WOULD LOVE TO DO BUT HAVE NEVER BEEN IN: A Chorus Line

NAME A PERSON YOU'D LIKE TO WORK WITH AGAIN: Kathy Burch!

WHAT ARE YOU AUDITIONING FOR NEXT: Big River...here's hoping...

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PERFORMING: I used to get up on tables at restaurants when I was five and sing Gloria Estefan's "Conga", or use our front porch steps as my staircase to perform "Hello, Dolly!" at age 3, so...ya. How gay is that?

DO YOU CARRY YOUR HEADSHOTS AROUND WITH YOU: Haha no.

DO YOU KEEP IN TOUCH WITH PAST CAST MEMBERS: About one or two per show.

ON A SCALE OF 1-10 HOW IMPORTANT IS GETTING PAID: 5? I dunno, I need to get paid eventually because all the hours at the theatre are hours I can't work. But for a good show or role I don't care if they pay me.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE PERFORMANCE(S): I don't think I've done my most memorable performance yet.

WHAT'S SOMETHING EMBARRASSING OR UNEXPECTED THAT HAPPENED TO YOU WHILE ON STAGE: Um, I myself am kinda boring in the embarassing department, which is good. Forgot my suit jacket once and ran off to get it, that was stupid. And I missed my broom jump in DOLLY the two nights my Grandma came. Otherwise I've seen people pee on stage and fall into the pit...not good.

EVER BEEN NAKED ON STAGE?: No but when I was little my leopard skin skimpy caveman outfit with only one shoulder strap was pretty embarassing.

WHO OR WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST INSPIRATION OR INFLUENCE? Barbra Streisand is really where my love for musicals comes from. And I guess my family has always been supportive. Oddly enough.

IF YOU COULD BE A RICH FAMOUS PORN STAR OR A STRUGGLING THEATRE ACTOR WHICH WOULD YOU CHOOSE? Ooo tough. How about SUCCESSFUL actor who LOOKS like a porn star? Yay.

ONSTAGE, HAVE YOU EVER...
a) Been killed? No
c) Played someone half your age? Yes
d) Played someone twice your age? Now I am for sure
e) Cried? No, I want to though!
f) Fired a gun? No
g) Driven a car? No
h) Been drenched? No
i) Been in a dream sequence? No
