Jan 06, 2010 00:52

Who: Sakura and Sasuke
When: January 4th in the mid-afternoon
Where: Sasuke's house
Why: Sasuke went and got himself a case of the common cold, and Sakura wanted to visit him with some tomato soup and a little company. Many... unusual things may result from this, so if you want to watch? Don't expect the typical. It's us writing this, remember?

Sakura jumped when she heard Sasuke’s voice almost knocking her head on the cupboard door turning her head as she hopped down from her perch on the counter. “Hey.” His voice was scratchy, but she expected that. Sakura rolled her eyes as she pulled down two bowls to add to the two plates that were already waiting to have food put on them. “Of course I went to that place. I said I would didn’t I?”

Sakura began opening drawers to find the spoons pulling two out and then taking the containers out of the bag. She popped the lid off the soup and the smell of spiced tomatoes filled the kitchen and she carefully poured a full bowl for Sasuke and then pouring a little into a bowl for herself grabbing both bowls and the spoons taking them to the table. “Sit. Eat.”

She smiled at Sasuke before grabbing his hand and gently tugging him to the table. “You only have to eat as much as you want, I don’t want you to feel ill.” He didn’t look awful, but his skin was warmer than normal which meant he had a fever. She assumed he was probably taking too much of that cough spray stuff. It was a good thing she’d brought some tea for him, she had this really great tea recipe that was supposed to help with colds.

It was actually really easy to make, Juan had given her the recipe when she had mentioned that Sasuke was sick. It was actually really easy and didn’t require cooking anything so she was set to go he’d told her. That jerk.

When he was seated Sakura went back to the counter to grab the sandwiches before going to sit at the table with Sasuke. “You don’t have to eat the sandwich. They just gave them to me as an extra… “ She smiled again taking a bite of the sandwich. “Do you need anything to drink? Have you been drinking lots of water?”

"K'so..." If he was in any other better shape than this, Sasuke wouldn't allow Sakura to help herself to drag him everywhere. However, the strong smell emanating from the food soon hit his nostrils, making the raven more than eager to allow Sakura to set up the table and finally get some of that soup up close.

When he settled in the chair, Sasuke held up one of the spoons (Sakura accidentally grabbed the Oneida-brand utensils pre-arranged for special occasions, but that wasn't important to ruin her generous spirit with), and studied the soup carefully, swirling it around the bowl in the process. "This actually looks very good, Saku."

Once tasting a heapful of the soup, he hummed contently, nodding his head to across the table as he added, "Delicious, too."

Not only that, but the tomatoes and every other ingredient used in the soup literally tasted fresh and high quality. Sakura's restaurant was assumed to be not of good stature, but the Uchiha was definitely proven wrong. It didn't help that Sasuke was absolutely starving; his last meal was a heaping bowl of organic applesauce ten o'clock this morning. A few more spoonfuls of the hot soup felt heavenly going down his scratchy throat. The tea that Sakura prepared and the sandwiches that came with the meal definitely have to wait until this bowl was cleaned dry. Such an addicting taste, he mused in mid-spoonful.

But he was being rude. Looking up, he responded while licking his lips, "Sorry. This soup is great." He pointed the spoon down at the near-emptied bowl in emphasis. "And I haven't eaten since this morning, so forgive me.

Ah, yes. I try to drink enough water. It's hard when you want something sweet over it, so I ended up drinking a whole thing of blueberry juice just cause."
