The traffic was horrible, as she probably should have suspected. A bus or a taxi would have been a better option, but Tenten had always enjoyed driving. With her favorite music turned up loud and the sound of impatient drivers still penetrating the closed car doors, she had a chance to be a little bit to herself before going off and meeting people at Hinata's party. Who would be there again? She ran over a mental list of all of the people invited. Hinata, of course, Neji, Hiashi and Hizashi, Naruto (someone she hadn't even spoken to yet), Sakura, Shino (another person she hadn't met). It should be an interesting mix of people, she decided, even if she didn't know most of them well enough yet to gauge whether or not she'd actually enjoy their company.
After a ton of honked horns, a brief time spent driving, several wrong turns, one or two u-turns, and a partridge in a pear tree Tenten finally found Hinata's apartment. It was a decent place, not too small but certainly not too large, perfectly sized for one person. Although eight people might have been a bit of a stretch, Tenten trusted Hinata's judgement enough to at least hope that the food and all of the people would fit somewhat comfortably. Well, she decided, it was definitely better than her own apartment, which would hardly hold four and a small dinner. Grinning at the thought, she checked the address again and made her way up the stairs to Hinata's door.

"Ah, I'm glad you made it."
The fact that Neji was unconscious on her bed and that Tenten would thus have no one to fall back on socially occurred to her, and she hoped that the young woman before her wouldn't be too upset about that fact. Speaking of women...
'Sakura's not here yet, I hope she's doing alright, she's never late. I didn't really set a time though, so perhaps she just didn't expect everyone to be so early?'
She brushed aside the brief thoughts of her friend, returning her attention to the young woman before her again.
"Come on in, please make yourself at home."

"I have hot chocolate. A bit of alcohol with it, of course," she said, smiling wryly. "A little bit of peppermint liquor because I figured plain hot chocolate would be too tame for everyone. Where should I put that?" Tenten asked. "Just on the table with everything else?" Speaking of tables, she looked over at it. "Damn, that's a lot of food!" she laughed. "You must've been up all night making it!"
Another thought sprang to Tenten's mind, and after relieving herself of the thermos of hot chocolate, she presented the candles to Hinata. "It's a small gift of appreciation for you, like a hostess gift." She grinned and rubbed the back of her head. "Sorry, it's kinda a habit to always bring something. My parents drilled it into me when we lived back in China." She knew such things were slightly less common in the states, but she supposed it wouldn't be too strange.
