continued stability, exploring options

Jun 22, 2006 23:16

Dad was good today, he is continuing to be able to converse regularly with us, with some frequent naps obviously.  He has been increasingly frustrated with the hospital food. It is no secret that Dad LOVES food and to say he has become cynical towards the hospital meals would be an understatement. Sanjeev, if you read this.... my dads response to your concern that the hospital food was a combination of typical bad hospital food mixed with the already awful english cuisine was an emphatic "YES".  That being said, robin and I are now going into town to get dad his meals so he will eat. We got him a fish sandwich from mcdonalds for lunch and brought him pizza for dinner which he definitly welcomed. Other than that, as far as dads condition there is nothing new to report, he is continuing to be stable, and his vitals are still good.

Because Dad's condition has stabilized, added on to the fact that none of us have any desire to stay in london any more than we have to we are exploring possible ways to get dad transported back to michigan through air ambulance services. There is an inherent risk in flying dad that puts his conditions at risk to get worse, however it is one that he is willing to take and we support him completely. If getting him home to be with the rest of his friends and family is a possibility, we are definitly going to look into it. However, nothing has been finalized at all yet, we just wanted to let everyone know that it is something we are looking into. We will continue to let you all know what is going on with dad and with this situation. Please continue to keep sending dad messages, they are no doubt helping keep up his spirits.
