My sister-in-law and new nephew are doing well, as of last night when I talked to them. (As for my brother, if his wife and son are well, then he is well. One of the better things he said to me yesterday was that he was anxious to get home not so much for the baby but to see his wife. Don't feel badly about not finishing your blankie... I haven't even STARTED mine yet!!! I thought I'd have time after the first of September.

I made a bunch of carseat blankets after Lila was born. (I was really reteaching myself how to crochet!) You can keep two things in mind:

1. He's a little baby. He doesn't need a big blanket.
2. My son told me that they don't use a lot of blankets. As long as the baby's room is warm enough -- and most of them are, nowadays -- professionals advise giving the baby more freedom and not burdening them with a blanket. (Of course, they said that forty years ago too, but my house was cold.)

In any case, my daughter-in-law thoughtly drapes one of my blankets over the back of a chair when I visit; she tries to let everyone know she is grateful for gifts. 8)
