"Step one, slit my throat/Step two, play in my blood..."

"Step three, cover me in dirty sheets and run, laughing, out of the house..."

That's "This Could Be Love" by Alkaline Trio. They're like what would happen if The Killers and, like, The Used got together and had a baby, and that baby listened to a lot of Sisters of Mercy growing up.

One more reason I should go back to school- Nobody I work with, as in not a single person on my crew, knows the scientific definition of gravity. I mean, okay, I will admit, I am fully capable of picking on people who are less intelligent than I am, but I am still fairly lenient. I don't like people who think the planet is sticky. There's something about not knowing something I learned in the sixth grade. I mean, I can still mess with their heads- I can still describe, like, the God's Debris definition of God, or explain my wacky inverse model of thought, but it's more like I'm talking AT them then WITH them. I feel like, "Gretchen, are you familiar with the works of St. Thomas Aquinas?"

Funny thing, though. Cyndi asked me, at Thanksgiving dinner, what I'd go back to school for, and I said, Philosophy. And she made an interesting point- What would I be learning for, like, the first year? They teach, like, Descartes, Hume, and Kant. That's Philosophy 101, right there. That was what I dealt with in my HONORS philosophy class. I'd been making obscure references to the Wax Example back in my sophomore year of high school. I have known Hume long enough to build up a healthy distate for him.

I don't always like it when I hear a song that's really beautiful and that I identify with a great deal. Just one of those is fine, but I have a problem with a song that is both. I often dislike it. A lot.

I also have a problem listening to punk songs about a couple in WWII Germany who get caught by the Nazis while having sex.

Anyway, I need to get back to sleep.

Remember, everything you read changes you, and you can never change back. Everything you read, everything you hear, everything you touch changes you, irreversably. You are now a different person than you were before.
