1. Grab the nearest book.

2. Open the book to page 123.

3. Find the fifth sentence.

4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal...along with these instructions.

5. Don't search around and look for the "coolest" book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.

Anybody who knows me knows I don't just have one book. Here are the examples from the nearest pile-

"Close by was a nasty jumble of broken glass."
- Wastelands, Stephen King

"Critics of Willaims and Nagel claim that, although our reactions and judgements do not always discount the element of luck, this is merely a fact of human psychology, and that if we are to be wholly rational we should discount that element."
- Paradoxes From A to Z, Michael Clark

"But how is the illusion of control turned into power over you and me?"
- The Lucifer Principle, Howard Bloom

"'But if I had to point a finger, which is not my style, but if I had to point, all I could say is, 'Your people killed God once before, so maybe they did it this time too.''"
- Leo Zook, Towing Jehovah, James Morrow

"'You guys walk ten paces over there and start throwing rocks at each other's heads.'"
- Solipsist, Henry Rollins
