Saturday Brandon Claire and I drove straight to Nashvegas for the reception at Estel Gallery (on Rosa Parks Boulevard). I was accepted in an international drawing exhibition and thought we'd hit the place up and see how it looked and hopefully sell something! OMG. I love that gallery. It's classy without being snooty and we were welcomed kindly despite my one faux pas of bringing my business cards. The good news is I sold a rather large piece to a most kind and humorous lady from London.
To me this means my artwork's appeal just might not be just here in Knoxvegas but possibly out there in the big world. And I couldn't be more excited. Perhaps this will lead to more shows 'out there'. This is fun despite a ridiculous 50% cut.
Julia and Kat...perhaps you guys can go take a look when you got a moment. I will say my work was put to shame by most of the work there. It's an amazing show with amazing talent all around me. I loved the drawings of every day receipts....simply incredible. Simply incredible.
