Well, I should probably be in bed right now... But just read a friend's journal and felt like putting in a post of my own.
Past two days have been extremely productive, even though I slept until 11 am both days (well every day since I've been home). Yesterday I went to Scumtrust bank and closed out my checking account and pretty much drained my savings account. When asked why, I got to tell them exactly what I thought of their bank. Went to Firestone after than and scheduled an oil change and tire rotation for my car for Friday at 7 a.m. What possessed me to schedule for 7 a.m., I have no idea, but I've been feeling very productive, so I figured it'd make me get up. That's why I should be sleeping right now. Then went to Bank of America and deposited the money that I had pulled out of Suntrust. Came home, washed my car, then helped my little sister and her friend start a project.
Today, I reorganized the garage enough that I could pull my old chest of drawers out, brought it into my room and put all my clothes in it. Then went through my boxes that I brought home and unpacked everything, then packed the major non-clothing essentials that I'll need for North Carolina. Then recleaned my room so that it's somewhat presentable. Then from 8:30 until just a few minutes ago, I was helping my little sister finish her project that she started yesterday. Well, really, I helped her until 10:30, then she went to bed, and I finished it up for her. Stupid pasta bridge competitions. But it gave me a chance to work engineering type stuff. I've also started putting together a To Do list of things I want to accomplish this summer (some trivial, some not) after talking to Marc & seeing his list. Here's what I have so far...
TO DO (no particular order)
1) No dating. Period.
2) Put at least $2,000 into my savings account from my earnings.
3) Go white water rafting at least once.
4) Work on my pool game.
5) Floss daily.
6) Finish 2 books, and 4 books in the Bible.
7) Attend church regularly.
8) Stay clean shaven for 3 solid weeks.
9) Rediscover my old style.
10) Take as many pictures as possible.
11) Use snail mail often. Write Marc, family, & one other person at least once a week.
12) Pray often.
13) Work out every night that I'm in North Carolina.
14) Get a new driver's liscense.
15) Get a new voter's card (registered in the county of my new home).
16) Talk more to older generations, learn the past.
17) Get out into nature as much as possible.
18) Go on a one day hike over part of the AT.
That's it for now, still thinking, but it's a start on what I want to do. Well, going to get a few hours of sleep before I have to wake up at 6 this morning.
