get a car/ urban woes

Like many of you probably,

I'm increasingly frustrated at the rest of the world

and my transportation options therein.

I just spoke with my cousin and aunt, who want me to go up to my grandma's/dad's for easter (asbury park area) now. Me too, I want to go there. I have to do some work first.*

The thing is, as I mentioned to them, going there involves obeying el tren schedule and messy transfers or el bus schedule and its local, 4-times-a-day route. That's why, I said, my dad picking me up at Trenton, a direct route at a mere 45 minutes, makes the most sense. But yeah, I wanna go get drinks with yall tonight.

No one from that side volunteered to get me at Trenton. Yesterday they picked other family member up at airport in Phila, so I understand if they don't want to drive another hour.

Earlier, talking to Blaine, who advocates going via PATCO and then the Riverline. Me too, I like NJ's pubtrans options way better than PA's. Hell, I don't so much mind if the bus takes 4 hours, at least there's no transfer and it takes me within walking distance to where I'm going. But a 4$ savings at what time cost?

Ugh, can everyone just agree to live within a decent distance of public transit?

I can't afford a car, and I don't want a car. But I hate hate relying on others for anything, especially moving my body from place to place. At least can folks understand that I don't have a car?
