CHARACTER
NAME: Alba Meira
FANDOM: The King of Fighters
CANON SYNOPSIS: Orphaned at a very early age, Alba and his "younger" twin brother Soiree were raised in a German orphanage until their teen years. They ran off on their own, finding their way to the crime-ridden American city of Southtown in the process. They settled down there under the care of a crime boss named Fate, until they reached adulthood. Not long after, Fate was killed in a turf war with the gang Mephistopheles. Alba returned to his old gang and went on a path of revenge. Though the true killer has yet been brought to Alba's personal justice, his popularity in Southtown has skyrocketed, setting him in position of the new gang leader. He uses his position to try and keep peace among the criminal element of Southtown. There is a mystery surrounding Alba and Soiree, one that intertwines their existence far more than even twins would normally be.
ONORATA-VERSE BACKGROUND: The Meira twins were orphaned young by a gang shootout. After being raised in a Monacello-sponsored "orphanage" to be something akin to meat shields with faces, the brothers were taken in by Fate, a consigliere of the Family. Fate, while loyal to the present Don, held onto the old practices of honor, loyalty, and kindess to those under the Family's wings. The boys took his ways to heart.
While both of the boys proved themselves in the ranks of the soldati, Alba also showed himself to have a brilliant mind, able to handle numbers and information with ease. Combined with being well-liked among his peers, and his lack of personal ambition in lieu of what was best for the Family as a whole, his assets were noted by Fate, who urged the young man to take his position, as he himself was stepping down within the organization. Alba hesitantly agreed, not really desiring the position. However, with the support of his brother and his peers, he's proven, to himself more than anyone else, that being placed in the position was no fluke.
Alba was subjected to levels of genetic engineering while still among the soldati. The result was increased hand-to-hand combat ability, which he honed into a much more rigid style of fighting than his brother. Because of his fighting method, he's earned the nickname "Diavolo dell'Alba," the Devil of Daybreak.
