Day 1

So my big box o' food arrived yesterday. Quite exciting really, to receive a huge box of "goodies". So I sorted through it last night, separating it, as suggested, into four different groupings: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert (snack). Because I had signed up for the auto-ship option, an extra week's food was included. For the most part, I couldn't tell what I had ordered and what was "extra", except for 5 dinner choices which I immediately bequeathed to hubby. Because the likelihood of me eating split pea soup? Pretty much zero, no matter how you look at it. Same with a couple of other items.

Since the box arrived yesterday and today is the start of a brand new month, it seemed the perfect time to begin. As I told hubby about an hour ago, I feel like I've been eating all day. And I've liked what I've eaten. You supplement the packaged food with dairy and fresh fruits and veggies, as well as the odd ounce of protein here or there. Overall, I've been very happy with the packaged food items I ate today.

I started the morning with cereal, which stayed crispy even in milk. You supplement your breakfast item with a serving of protein or dairy so I had an egg. Actually, I thought I was out of eggs so I scrambled up Egg Beaters for Matt and I and it was quite tasty. Naturally, after buying eggs at the grocery store I determined that we weren't out after all. Oy.

A couple of hours later comes a snack of a serving of either dairy or protein and a fruit. I had yogurt and grapes.

Lunch was pasta with beef, a salad with tomato and dressing, which I forgot to add my chicken to so I ate 1 oz. of ham instead afterwards. Very tasty.

Another snack in the afternoon, this time of a cheese stick and two tangerines (again, this is a dairy/protein and fruit).

Dinner was the most yummy chicken and noodles, very flavorful with bits of red peppers and other spices. I also had applesauce and a bit of the asian salad I make (essentially it's coleslaw mix with this fabulous dressing). I finished off the night about an hour ago with a very rich fudge brownie.

All in all, I am quite encouraged. I've also managed to get in my eight 8-oz. glasses of water. Go me!
