Day 337 of 365: Tutoring and Business

Dec 03, 2022 05:42

Today, I have a tutoring session at Center F. I am not sure if my director there realizes it, but I've turned a little "cold" towards the job. I still give the job my good efforts and treat the students equally as I do at Center S. But in my heart-of-hearts, I feel a bit sorry for them. One of the reasons I continue to maintain a relationship with Center F. is because I do not want to burn my bridges. In the case that I move out of the area and move back in, I want Center F. to know that my services will always be available as long as I am available.

It is the same with Center S. In fact, I am interested in someday purchasing either or both centers. Center F. is individually-owned and I believe the owner/director might be ready to sell it in ten to fifteen years. As for Center S., I believe it is jointly owned. If one owner sells out, the other partners simply "pick up" the sold stake. Or at least goes my understanding.

I really need a source of income that brings in double, triple, or even ten times the income that my tutoring jobs bring in. Working at Center S. brought me a significant pay boost this year and I am thankful for that. But I would love to earn much, much more than that. For starters, I really would love to purchase a new car. I have a gas-guzzling car that is a 1999 Model. I would also love to purchase either or both of the tutoring centers I work at.

Yesterday, I wrote about my experience working at a tax firm. I found out that what I love to do is set up business processes if I know the core work of the business well. I know the core work of a tutoring business well: tutoring subjects. Setting up and maintaining the processes would be hard work, but never boring. At the time of working for the tax firm, I did not know taxes very well. But I was willing to learn. I am a bit more confident now but I know I have much more to learn. But I also have much to be thankful for.

Student Loan Payment Pause: expires in 209 days.

The year 2022 ends in: in 28 days

Exercise: same as yesterday with some added.

Covid-19 Pandemic: I predict it subsides becomes endemic to the United States in 70 days.

Tutoring: one session today.

1.) I am thankful for my own health, overall well-being, and to have been protected from Covid-19.
2.) I am thankful to understand my life, career, and current situation. I am also thankful for having hope for the future.
3.) I am thankful for having two jobs and for conducting an organized job search.
4.) I am thankful for having passed the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Examination.
5.) I am thankful for the President's decision to forgive student loans, give an additional six months to repay it, and for being personally approved for it by the Department of Education.
6.) I am just... thankful.

Until next week,

Jack
