Poem (yes another one, run in fear)
shush you! it's been a loong time since I've posted one.
for those who did not know, today would have been our 2 year mark. 2 years since I stepped, terrified, on a plane in St. Louis and headed to SFO. Two years since he held me in his arms for the first time. Two years ago, today, I met the man that I still love. I miss that man, but he's been gone a while now. I'm going to cry some today, sing some today and find a new reason to make this day one I celebrate.

You knew I was a songbird
but you never heard me sing
for no voice could be louder than yours
you called me your diamond
yet you never let me shine
for only you had a moment in the sun
I am still that songbird
though my voice is soft and weak
I will sing out loud until the whole world hears
and yes, I am a diamond
because you could not shatter me
no longer behind your shadow I will shine
