I need some advice on a recent etsy purchase.  I hope it ok ask this in this community given the purchase wasn't diapers, but it does relate to a WAHM, Palpal and Etsy which I would assume the mamas of this community are very familar with.

From her email to me:

"The reason i say we ship to your paypal is that i am not the only person processing order here. Because of the extreme volume of orders that we process, i have an assistant and my husband. There is almost someone working around the clock here. We have a page for flagged orders, that need special attention- mostly address changes. Whoever is processing the orders will see on our flagged page if i have noted that someone told me that the paypal address is incorrect. On an average week i get about 50 requests for special orders (on top of the 100's of regular orders) sometimes more and they ALWAYS tell me where it is going if international. So I would not have marked you down just because you told me at that point."

I haven't been given a refund at this point, as I guess she is hoping the package will be returned to her at which point she will forward it on and has kindly said she refund my shipping (so essentially making it free shipping because of the mix up).

I really cant see it coming back to her, and unfortunately I have no way of collecting the package given I live in Australia now.

How long would you give it before asking for either a refund of funds or for the merchandise to be re-shipped?

Honestly, if she marked the order as canceled, I would just request a refund. You can always resend her payment if she gets the package and wants to send it out to you.

As far as her husband and assistant go, if she discussed something as important as international shipping with you, she should have noted it immediately on your account/order precisely because of this type of mix up.

Sure, your paypal address was wrong, but it seems like she picks and chooses as well with this comment - "But sometimes Paypal shipping is down so i may need to use your etsy address." If she doesn't ALWAYS use Paypal addresses then she shouldn't be holding you to anything.

This is just my two cents though. Someone else may disagree with me. *shrugs*

You told her the PP address was incorrect BEFORE YOU SENT HER YOUR MONEY. She should have flagged your order when you placed it, and had a note in her system about it prior to that as well.

Well thats what I would have assumed since she linked the custom order she set up for me on the very same thread of convos in which I asked about shipping to Australia :S

Lack of communication between her and her staff isn't your problem. It's on her. If you paid for intl. shipping, it should have been sent intl. Period. Good luck :)
