... all the Goodmamas for sale? This isn't drama, just me wondering if I'm missing something. They go from being uber-hot to being the diaper everyone is trying to sell? Not just on LJ, but everywhere it seems.

I'm pretty much out of the loop. Is there another hot new diaper out?

I haven't heard of a new/hot diaper.

If I had to guess it would be this:
1) easily available (so maybe sell to buy different prints)
2) economy is bad so sell to buy cheaper diapers (or something else)

My son is potty learning and I am thinning out what my husband doesn't use, which would be goodmama's. He prefers FB.

But I haven't had much luck selling mine. I have only sold one of the five that I had left. :(

The new hot diaper is a prefold.

So much for the "investment" diapers. Welcome to the sucky economy, right? :(

I always thought "investment" was a ridiculous way to view any diaper, unless by investment you meant a diaper that would last through all 3/4/5/6/x of your kids and still catch the poop.

That's exactly how I've seen them too. It's an investment if you can use them for multiple kids, or you have a buyer who is absolutely certain to purchase them after use (like a pregnant family member or something.)

It's also probably because of the sheer amount being produced and sold. If a million have been made it's reason to expect to see 100,000 for sale. (those numbers are absolutely made up by the way!!) that's why you can always find bg or fb for sale, too.

That could be too, I guess.

After all the hoopla, the stalking, the co-ops, the trades, the bartering of first born... you would think people would be keeping these forever.

A lot of mamas were selling them to fund their syof purchases, or to recoup some of the money they have spent lately on all of the new prints and syofs.

This. Lately in GM-land they've been stocking new prints at least a few times a week if not every day! It's insane. Everyone is selling their older prints or NIP that they can't find trades for, trying to get pp for the next big stocking. Frankly, I can't keep up anymore, so I'm done buying for awhile. :/

I was kind of in awe as to their production line. They have to be doing some sort of factory going on...I mean it cant just be the 2 small sewing "groups" it was a year and a half ago..

I agree. They are pumping these dipes out QUICKLY. I mean, what was the turn-around time on this round of SYOF? Like 4 weeks? And they made about 30ish dipes each out of 50 fabrics - not to mention all the other new prints that were coming out at the same time. They've got to have some kind of big factory set-up, or robots, or an army of Oompa Loompas sewing up all these diapers.

Also, the snap placement issues with SYOF1 really made me think that the snaps might be put on by a machine. How else could an entire batch of diapers ALL have the same exact placement of crooked snaps?
