So I bought two dryer balls from a WAHM off Hyena. Her listing was all messed up, she had to invoice me, no issues there, these things happen. I was just excited, I had never tried dryer balls before. I asked for the scent I wanted, all was well.
Well a few weeks later I get them, they're made very nicely - no issues.. except, there is no scent. Now I've never used these before, so I asked around to see if maybe I had to dry them a few times to work the scent out.. Well, I put them through the dryer twice. Nothing. I messaged the mama, being polite, asking if there was a trick to getting the scent out. From the get she starts with how amazing the smelled and how everyone commented on them, making me feel like I was lying to her. Well that is awesome, but mine don't smell.. at all. I had NO reason to lie. These were for 9 bucks total, 2 or 3 bucks shipping. Not a large amount at all, but I just wanted her to know these were not what I paid/asked for.
I asked the mama for just a discount at first, which would have saved me the trouble of packaging something up, wasting my time to go to the post office, to send in something that is NOT what I paid for. Now I should have read her policy, but she offered a refund. I never asked for one from the get, she offered it. Which was fine, but like I said, I didn't want to deal with that.. I wanted to just get a discount - I'm not out to scam her or lie to her, but I guess she was sour from previous issues or what not, but she assumed I was lying.
Now, I would have taken 50 cents, a buck - whatever the difference between scented & unscented was, but no. I told her that I would like shipping + a refund, NOT UPFRONT. I'm no idiot, I don't expect money upfront for an item, I assumed she knew that - since that is just common policy everywhere, however it was twisted to make it look like I asked for all the money up front, FALSE. 100%. How this is unreasonable to ask for this ? When she tries to imply I'm a liar? She OFFERED the refund. I simply asked for the shipping cost. (since now I'm out a total of 5 bucks for shipping for 9 dollar dryer balls)
She felt the need to try to "expose" me on DS as some type of scammer. She nicely worded and placed everything to make it look like I'm some idiot, by implying I wanted money upfront. I started to message her on DS since she was not responding to e-mails but taking the time to copy & paste them on the DS thread, so tacky. I'm sure anyone here who goes on there can go view the thread - its always nice to see the one side of things. I messaged her that I was upset & almost in tears over the fact that she was making me look like this, and she MOCKED me in the thread!! How incredibly unprofessional & down right disturbing to make fun of a PAYING customer with an issue with HER work. Side not - I've been told by MANY of my buyers that I am overly honest & I describe things to a T.
She got the DC#, which she never updated everyone with in the thread, weird huh? I'm such a scamming liar, yet I'm sending them back.
Oh, and now she is shamelessly promoting herself - adding a lovely little sale to her siggy in the middle of this, again.. tacky, IMO. But whatever gets you business, right?
Also, I was going to just resell these for less then I paid to just recoup my loss - but I chose to send them back to prove a point. I hate being made out to be a liar.
Anyways, this is just my side - sorry its long. I just wanted to put my side out there because I felt it was needed.
