On a health kick...

So disappointed. I've not heard anything on the Nurse Practitioner program yet. Ugh! Oh, well. I'm gonna assume I didn't get it and try to not think about it today. I'm sure they picked people with more time with the company.

I've been on this healthy kick for almost a year and a half. I first started with watching my diet and exercising. I'm now jogging, I try to jog 3 times a week during lunch, more when time allows. I have a goal of finishing a 10 K this fall. Most recently I started having a smoothie in the morning for breakfast. I use to do a Diet Coke and Coffee. I've now stopped buying Diet Coke/Soda all together (I use to drink like 2-4 a day!) to keep in my house. I will have one on occasion if we go out to eat or when I'm done shopping. But I'm really trying hard to order ice tea or lemonade when I'm out to eat.

My morning smoothie consists of: strawberries, 1 banana, Hand-full of fresh spinach, a couple of scoops of yogurt, and protein powder. Its pretty yummy. What I've found is that it gives me pretty good energy and appetite control. I don't find myself snacking nearly as much in the morning. It's even taken away some of my cravings for unhealthy stuff like sweets.

Anyways, I really don't have much to say....just a bit bummed. Oh well, I will go jog during lunch and hopefully that will lift my mood. Enough whining now.
