I know the feeling. The weather has been so nice and it makes me stir crazy. I want to go walking. I want to step away from civilization, somewhere beautiful and natural with lots of happy trees and grass and cute little wildlife critters. I love nature. It can be so beautiful that I feel like crying. I want to go for a nice long hike. We both have !nature husbands so I still say we should go hiking at some state park! Seriously.
My god i so need to come and visit you guys. I grew up as a property/small town girl. Running water completely fascinates me.. I can entertain myself for hours if i can find a fresh creek bed. My sister and i used to wake up at around 5.30am and go do a complete 8km?ish circuit with the herd of goats.. just get back in time for fresh porridge cooked on cows milk
( ... )
What an amazing retreat this sounds like! I'm sure I would be horribly embarassed to run naked anywhere (except our bedroom) but it sounds like so so much fun! It is the most healing thing I know, to walk in the natural world, to enjoy the sights and sounds, mostly the feeling of freedom. I think men at some point got sick of being hunters, and decided to make us huts then cabins, then houses to live and cook in. This day in age, they seem perfectly content to play games that excite and revitalize their need for the hunt. lol I'm being sarcastic, but I think we all could use more time outside, in the wild, enjoying what we as a civilization seem to have forgotten. It is nature that made us into who we are, sometimes we need to go back and thank her.
