Recap

So to start this out right, I need to add thanks to my dear husband and bestest of friends (Ms Cindy) for making this a truly incredible birthday.
Over the last week (yes, I have been celebrating my birthday for over a week now) I have received: outstanding gifts
surprise party
bus party (don't ask, long story)
dinner with the wild one herself (replete with stuffed cow and wine)
weekend getaway to a favorite B&B
shopping spree with The Mom
weekend with friends in Michigan
and overall more happiness than I could have imagined when I wrote that entry about how this birthday was going to suck.
I'm such a spoiled brat!

I do have to mention something rather amusing though...
When my hubbie and I went to the B&B, we left the dog with my parents for the weekend. When we arrived this morning to pick her up, my mom had left us a little picture journal of the goings on. It was amazingly cute! The best part, though, was when she had a picture of our dog lying on the floor, looking all pitiful.

The caption read:
"I have had a blast here at grandma and grandpa's! I kept Ms Hattie company...and what, no toys? I realized that refrigerator magnets make awesome toys! I helped gramps with the landscaping, and fertilized the carpet! I'm a GREAT houseguest!"

Ok, so to understand all of the above, I will explain in a bit more detail.
As far as Ms Hattie's concerned, she is my parent's 13 year old english bulldog. She is quite nearly blind, doesn't move very well, and generally like to sleep and be left alone. My dog essentially herded Ms Hattie all weekend, harassed her out of her bed (just as she would fall asleep) and ate all her food. Good times were had by all.
We forgot to bring toys up for the dog. She made her own, she ate all my mother's refrigerator magnets (little stuffed farm animals) while my parent's were not paying attention.
For the landscaping bit, my husband and I went out to the backyard to discover my dog had dug a grave sized hole (I shit you not, this dog can DIG) it was at least 3 feet deep, and porbably 4 feet long) in the middle of the backyard. I feel so bad for my parents! lol.
and well, the fertilization of the carpet pretty much speaks for itself. Yep, my dog dutifully dug up the backyard and crapped in the living room. I'm guessing we will have to board her next time we go anywhere without her. LOL.
