The Best Day Ever

Or something like it, anyway. (Or it was until LiveJournal ate the first version of this post.)

Yesterday, I got my quarterly royalty checks from Amber Quill and Torquere Press, and my October statement from Samhain. The numbers made me happy. :)

I also chose the patterns for the holiday gifts I'm crocheting this year, then bought the yarn for all of them. I'm making three scarves and (if there's time) an afghan. It was about $70 all together, which is still half the price of buying gifts for these particular people -- and twice the fun.

I also ordered "Crocheted By __" tags to sew on them, to stave off any comments that would lead to me locking myself in the bathroom and crying. Don't laugh, that was the result of my gift buying three years ago, except it was my partner who was crying because his parents complained about the (carefully chosen and very expensive) gift. His parents are usually more socially adept than that, but we're not taking any chances this year.

And I'm finishing up my edits/revisions of "Going the Distance" today, so I can pass it on to Anah...
