So I activated my 2-week pass at Bally's nearly 2 weeks ago (and then promptly got sick for a week). I went tonight for the third (and likely final) time. It's pleasant enough on a Thursday, less so on a Tuesday, and utterly beyond irritating on a Monday. I did 10 minutes on the cross trainer, 3 sets of lat pulldowns, then gave up & came home. (Granted I'm still kind of sick.)
A thought which wandered through my mind last Tuesday as I was killing time waiting for a lat pulldown spot to open up: "If I want to sit on my butt and screw around with dumbbells ( -- that kind of sh*t I can get at work! -- ) you know, I could just do that at home for free."
They should make gyms for introverts. You could have your own isolation pod, and order in various bits of equipment as you need them. (Come to think of it, I know of hotels in Manhattan that do that. But I don't think it works if everyone wants to work out at once...)
Sigh. Someday my prince will come...
Tomorrow's plan: Give the 24 Hour Fitness in Manhattan Beach another chance. At least that one has enough parking spots. :P
Next week's plan: Use the 3-day pass Sam scored me for LA Fitness.
Next month's plan: Punt & sign up at Bally's if that's really the best I can do.
