Awhile ago,
keltickalypso invited me to tea. She always puts on the best spread. We had little sweets and savories, as well as a delicious and rare tea from the
Posh Peasant in San Clemente.
Afterwards we explored a nearby Japanese garden. It's actually part of a water reclamation project by the city of LA. Very forward-thinking to combine such a practically facility with such natural beauty, but it's been there for years. It was a weekday and practically deserted, so the surroundings inspired me to get all Karate Kid.
I also stopped by the Norton Simon for awhile. They had an interesting exhibit on portraiture after
Ingrés. And there were a lot of paintings I liked, including this little Renoir. The photo doesn't do it justice of course. You've gotta see famous art in person, whenever possible, because their power to reach out and envelop you never translates photographically.
It's really important to take time out for art and nature and good friends. I don't feel like myself, otherwise.
