Life, Recs, and Kinky Stuff
In recent news, one of my RL shipmates is in town. Yes, the one for whom I wrote the L.A. traffic guide. We two and our guys met for a great dinner last night at a local Italian place. Horrible décor (pastel pink and teal? WTF?) but fine food. Mr. Tungsten graciously offered to drive, so I got to drink more than my share of the lovely Barbera that was on offer. Thank you for picking the delicious wine, pirate-guy :)
The restaurant was right next to an adult video store -- first I've ever seen in my little Red-Town-In-A-Blue-State. I was startled by the coincidence and had to point to it on the way out. "That?" I waved at the lurid neon signage "Totally not my fault. Didn't even know it was here."
They gave me looks like "suuuure you didn't" and I wilted in a bizarre kind of embarrassment.
Teh p0rn. It haunts me.
Also, my f-list is almost too big to be manageable. I took a couple days off for the above friend-counter and some delicious RPs over at the E-Clinic where many providers strive to administer quality care. But now the list of LJ stuff to catch up on is almost, to use a choice phrase from Dangerous Liaisons, "beyond my control".
Some awesome stories have been hitting the boards in my absence. First up, is rubynye 's smut-tastic pairing of Kirk and girl!Bones (the lovely Leah McCoy) in the mirrorverse, complete with inspirational nsfw art from Sex is Not the Enemy. This fic is so cruel, yet so tender, and the language is absolutely poetic. I want to read it over and over so I can figure out at least some of the mechanics of writing like this.
Getting it Right is a nu-verse Kirk/McCoy classic by skyblue_reverie with dirty talk and dirty fucking in just the right measures. Oh Doctor? I'll take mine over the conference table, please.
And now I see the amazing yami_no_kaiba has posted a Mirror Spock/McCoy Master List! This is going to provide amazing fodder for Behind the MIrror V. I am currently resigning myself to the idea of getting no work done evoragain.
