Notes on Admittedly, My First Time, Too

I just finished a (very) quick editing process Admittedly, My First Time, Too -- caffeine's got me hyped up and I saw enough issues that I was uncomfortable. So my brain called an impromptu editing session, hee. ^.^ I'd love to post it again when I feel more comfortable with it and stop picking it apart.

But I loved Tidus and Yuna's pairing from the get-go. My journey into Final Fantasy X is a small story in and of itself: I was born and bred on Nintendo. I have photographic evidence that I was playing Nintendo at the age of two and have never had any other system other than a Nintendo system since then. But a friend of mine needed money for groceries (we're both graduate students), so I bought his extra PS2 off him. He threw in FFX as part of the package deal. The adventure came to life. :D

This was the first video game I played in which a specific pairing was blatantly encouraged (other than Mario and Princess Toadstool/Peach) and I loved it. I loved that Tidus changed himself to gain Yuna. I loved Yuna's constant trust in Tidus. However, there were several scenes in the game that made me cringe. The infamous "whistle for me" scene in Luca made me want to take a cheese grater to my eyes and ears, but I thought the sentiment was sweet. ^.~

But why should I keep the pain to myself? Here is the English version for you. WARNING: You may need ear bleach after it's done.

And there is the Japanese version -- I tend to favor this one in terms of 180 proof "badness."
I got to thinking about how much the game could have been improved if SquareEnix had simply hired some professional writers to write the script and I desperately wanted to see the scene at Macalania Springs (second time around) rewritten.

I'm not done editing Admittedly, but I think I have an idea of where I need it to go. Stay tuned and thanks for following. :)

notes, personal life, rant, final fantasy x, yuna, admittedly my first time too, tidus
