Enchanted Glass

Anyone who has read Enchanted Glass?

Don't click on the lj-cut unless you've read it!

I can't believe I only got around reading Enchanted Glass yesterday! I've read all her books except the very recent so I bought this and Islands of Chaldea. Both very good reads and very DWJ-esy. I also just realised at the very last minute that Enchanted Glass has incorporated a Midsummer Night's Dream into it. Very clever, and nice. :)

I actually prefer Enchanted Glass over Islands of Chaldea (just a little though, hehe) but was puzzled over several issues and thought perhaps, intelligent fans of DWJ might be able to help me out on this!

1) Was a bit disappointed that Aidan's name didn't factor into the plot, given DWJ's seeming obsession about the importance of names and whatnot (which can be seen in almost all of her previous novels too). Or have I missed out something?

2) Andrew has mentioned once or twice, and even Aidan himself, that the purple stained glass seems to be the most important. Yet at the final bit when Andrew managed to banish Mr Brown (Oberon the King) away, he didn't use the purple glass (possibly Tarquin)? I guess I just don't quite understand how it worked (although Andrew himself doesn't know either?).

3) Strange that the counterparts were for Hope et al., and not for Oberon/Brown. Any opinions on this?

Thanks! :)
