Just a thought.
I say allow your kids to get "bored", boredom is what gives birth to their imagination. I think too many parents are so focused on activities and "building a person" that a lot of kids spend too much structured time and are missing out on good old fashioned childhood.
Let 'em play in the mud when it rains, help them paint/draw/collage a mural on their bedroom wall. And if they complain about being bored, ask them to to tell you a story. You never know what they'll come up with.
