She was the one who noticed the change. He was concentrating very hard one day at the table and his eyes changed color.
“Gene, your eyes,” she said, shocked. She sent him a mental image of his now-pink eyes.
“Oh? Yours just did it, too,” he replied.
She raised her eyebrow. “Really?”
“Yes.”
“Wow. We match,” she commented. “How cliché is that?”
Gene chuckled and gave up on whatever he was doing. His train of thought was gone and she was presenting too tempting a target of his attention.
“What are you doing this afternoon?” Gene asked.
“Nothing.” She tossed her hair in a way that he found much sexier than he should have.
“Want to waste some time with me?”
She grinned and nodded happily. “That sounds lovely.”
