Halloween
Gideon & his family want us all to go to this big church carnival thing for the kids to enjoy instead of trick or treating. I admit Emmet is too young to trick or treat & I was hoping to find something for us to do (like the ZooBoo).
I just can't bring myself to go to a church run event on Halloween. It's bothers me a lot. Morally it doesn't sit well.
I think it's great that the Christ the Rock Church has these family events for the community, but come on... I'm a Witch! How can I spend 1 of the most important Pagan holidays at a church event?
The few things I've found for us to do are mostly in Miami & the local stuff doesn't seem that interesting.
I told Gid we'd go, but it really makes me uncomfortable. I may not be a full ritual casting witch (would if I could), but it doesn't make me any less of a Pagan. I have my beliefs & though some might disagree with them I don't preach or say much about them.
I just don't feel comfortable spending Samhain at a church.
How do I convey all this without ruining the fun for everyone?
Besides... Just looked up the church thing & it starts way too late for E. 6pm is dinner, bath at 7pm, a walk, & bed at 8pm. I hate screwing with his bedtime ritual.
