So yesterday Suzi and I went to Britex, which is this big bad-ass fabric store. I actually went in thinking that I would be going crazy on ribbons and buttons, and probably fabric, too, especially after overdosing on tutorials linked from
How About Orange (check it out, its an awesome blog!). I didn't get any of those. I did, however, get a few sheets of felt and a grab bag of zippers, which will probably become rosettes on pins or barrettes, that is yet to be determined.
The felt, however, I already made great use of! Check out what I did this weekend!
I bought the felt to make tiny bows from this tutorial:
Small felt bow barrettes But as you can see, I ended up following this one to make even bigger better bows:
Gift bows from magazine pages.
Felt is hella hard to photograph, by the way.
The entire group! I can probably still make another bow each from the grey, green, and fuscia felt, the white one I found a partially used piece of felt that I already had, I don't think there's enough for a second big bow.
The green one I sewed a pin back onto, so that I can pin it onto clothing like so!
Then I realized that I can also pin them into my hair if I just use a bobby pin on one of the bottom-most loops!
And of course I did make one of the tiny bows as well.
These were super fun, easy, and took hardly any time at all! I want more felt so I can make like a million of them, haha.
