What's this? A real entry? I bet some of you thought I was going to just twitter for the rest of my life. Well, I had that notion, too, so here I am.
I had no idea knitting machines were so expensive. See, my mom sent me some awesome Malabrigo laceweight in a sunny yellow color, and the first thing I thought about making was just a stockinette scarf, it would be squishy and light, and totally rival all those way overpriced scarves at the Gap and whatnot. But do I really want to knit 5+ feet of stockinette on like size 4's by hand? I really don't. So if I had a knitting machine, blamo! I could make one in every color lickety split! But I was under the totally false impression that I could get a knitting machine for like $100 max. SO WRONG. So now I'm sad, and actually really tempted to buy like 30 crochet hooks at $2 a pop and glue them to a board. And then like, ladder up a whole row at a time. Haha. In my head, this will totally work!
I may try to use it in my loom, actually, but I'm still a super novice weaver and I don't know how well the wool will do in the loom, or if I have enough yarn to use the same color as both warp and weft. Any of you experienced with rigid heddle looms?
Also, as much as I want to save money, I'm just not at the point yet where I'm going to buy IGA (store brand) toilet paper. WHY IS IT $1.50 FOR 4 ROLLS WHEN EVERY OTHER BRAND IS LIKE $4 FOR 4 ROLLS. It worries me. Makes my butt clench up a little bit.
Lastly, Rachael got me a new WoW account so that Gail and I don't have to share anymore, and I'm SUPER EXCITED. Plus, Recruit-a-Friend's 3x Xp is as awesome as it sounds. Off to play some more!
