anywho...time for a substantial update - even though I just wrote three e-mails to friends i haven't talked to in a long time that basically say the same thing that this post will. oh well, here it is...
so my family, Steve and I flew to San Diego for Thanksgiving to visit my brother. We had a good time, although it wasn't nearly as fun as it has been in the past. This may been a direct result of my brother's immature, douche bag friends. When we arrived at his house on Thursday we spent 5 hours listening to about 8 girls and 5 guys endlessly talk about "last night" when they apparently all got piss ass drunk. You can only imagine how annoying it got listening to them talk about it, but it got even worse when the pictures were projected on the TV screen. Thank god, however, the camera battery died a quarter of the way into it. I'm sorry, but once you're between the age of 26-30, you should have some element of responsibility and shouldn't feel the need to act like college freshman. So that was that. And the weather was nice!
What made thanksgiving day bearable, however, was learning that I won a trip to New York City for New Years Eve - along with tickets to see Wilco and the Flaming Lips at Madison Square Garden. I'm super excited - if you watch Dick Clark on New Years Eve, look for Steve and I amongst the crowd!
Work has been going well - I love what I do but I'm still warming up to the people there. The funny thing is, I just got a seasonal part time job working in the warehouse at Steve's company (I activate and mail Best Buy gift cards that are ordered online), and I've gotten along better with the people there - who are your stereotypical, unskilled laborers - than at the credit union. Maybe it's because they're more liberal...
My condo is finally start to feel like home, and hopefully I've have my sectional by the first part of january. I'm finally getting some artwork up, so it actually looks cozy and decorated.
I guess that's really all I got for now.
