Europe - Day 10 (Switzerland: Jungfraujoch, Bern)!

The scenic views in Switzerland were like postcard pictures coming to life; beautiful, breathtaking.

Picture-perfect everywhere

Jungfraujoch

Day 10 saw us getting to the "top of Europe", at the price tag of CHF 200 per pax (~S$266).

We were given passports to be stamped once we reach the destination: Europe's highest-altitude railway station.
So that we did, for memory keepsake; the stamp reads 14.06.2012 10:59. :)

The train journey to Jungfraujoch took around 50 minutes, but it certainly didn't feel that long when your eyes were treated to views of the beautiful snow-capped mountains, clear blue skies, endless green pastures with herds of cattles wearing their trychel, grazing.

The first stop at Jungfraujoch was the Ice Palace, followed by the Sphinx observatory and then lunch.

IT WAS MUTHERFREAKING COOOOLLLLDDDDDD at the Sphinx observatory, I have ZERO IDEA how some people can actually remove their gloves to play with the snow (Wha?!!!!!!!???!!!?!?!?!).

Ok maybe it's just me, I don't function very well when it gets too cold, and the altitude sickness didn't help. :p
We had ice-cream after lunch, and it was good. Hee.

Bern

At last, some warmth and sunlight... and bears. ;)

Our hotel was smacked right next to a lake.
Since it was still bright outside (the sun doesn't set till around 9pm?), King & I decided to take a stroll (we got ourselves a packet of fries from McDonald's somemore!).

We watched the swans & ducks swim around freely, and didn't leave till we saw the magnificent sunset.
