Well, it's a really pretty edition, bright pink, and with the weirdest defect in the world
The cover is upside down and not really like a cover, the cover is in the back and the bars code is in the front... o_O
This is a learning for me... Not all your dreams will come as you expect them to come. The weird thing with the cover, and well, my entry was featured in a little space in page 98 along with 3 little illustrations, I guess that this is because I'm well unknown >.<
The art there is wonderful, really, lots of different styles and all worthy of looking at them for a long time, I will learn a lot by checking this book, really
About the painting, well, no news yet. I guess that as things are going, the painting must be one of the only ones that haven't sold. There's still an exhibition I believe in Melbourne but the dates are not announced yet. The big news here is that the tour will be international this year, and it will start in Toronto in mid-july. This makes me hit my head really strong bcause I sent a not-very-nice-to-look painting when I should have sent a more-me painting instead. S H I T
Anyway, I don't expect much of that painting as I KNOW that bcause of the problems in customs, and as I saw in the only pic I've seen where I knew that my painting was alive, that it had some white spots in the corner areas =(. I read in shipping restrictions that wood things are prohibited to enter Australia, and if they have to go in, the wood must be treated before leaving the customs offices. So, as it was opened once or twice, I guess that the f*cking people there damaged it.
Sooo, I'm not expecting good news, and knowing that it will be in Toronto in July, I guess that I still have time to save $$ to ship it back to me, hopefuly it won't be as expensive as it was to ship it there.
Well, at least I have now a feature in a commercial book, a show in Sydney, and in this months a show in Melbourne and one in Toronto. With the good news that the painting could be exhibited in other countries as the organizers are asking people if they want the show to go to their hometowns. This are great news, I have a new goal for next year, I want to be part of this too, but with a much better style =) Worthy of a full page spread, not a tiny 2.5"x3.7" aprox space.
A dream came true with a little tiny deception. Well, I guess that all dreams are mostly like this.
Congrats to the featured artists, you all rock!
Love
Diana
