FAQs

What's this city like?
Clean, shiny streets and palm trees everywhere! Despite years of expanding, the buildings are still moderately spaced out by the shore, but the city gets more architectually congested as you travel deeper in it. Tall buildings, small buildings and famous Diamond landmarks make up these grounds with some streets even having small, private homes. You name it, its probably there. Be sure to stop by Wario Ware Inc. sometime, high on that hill!

How's the weather?
Diamond City has a close to tropical climate. it stays moderately warm most of the year and gets cooler around northern-hemisphere wintertime but never enough to snow.

What can we generally find In Diamond City?
All the well-known landmarks from the games such Ashley's mansion and Club Sugar to Wario Ware Inc. itself are well existant there. Most of the residents to Diamond City may have not been apped in this RPG yet and will exist as offscreen NPCs (no log/heavy canon participation) until they are picked up. They are still residents in Diamond City.

Starbeans Cafe is a new business that opened there, originally began in the Beanbean Kingdom. Other businesses may exist if a character brings them in and sets up shop, and because this town houses Pokémon, a Pokémon center exists as well, along with a stadium currently under construction.

Anything that's needed to exist in this city, pretty much does.

Who runs this place?
A mayor is generally being decided, but you'll only see or hear of Dr. Wright, the mayor's assistant and prophet.

Internet?
Apparantly someone wants to make sure he's connected wherever he goes, and because of that, an unsecured wifi network covers the whole world city. Free internet for everyone!

I can't imagine my guy to be very computer-saavy...
Who needs computers? This is the 21st century. Your character can probably pick up something like a voice posting recorder with a simple red button on it or post from a cellphone should they want to learn. Make sure the journal entry is marked as a voice post so others would know how to respond if they can. Be creative.

Alternatively, your character could be more of the log type in which you're more fancy with logging and the actual journal doesn't get touched very much. That's OK too!

Haxxors and Noobs!
We have three security levels for IC journal entries. Plain and simple: Do not overcomplicate this.

Public - by default, everyone can read the entry
Private(to)/Hackable - Characters with kung-fu computer skills can hack and read these entries.
Private(to)/UNhackable - Entry is off-limits to responses and anyone else's knowledge. Go away!
Paper/Letter/Stickynote/E-mail - Also off-limits.

No "Super hackable" or "somewhat hackable" or anything in between. If you make your character leave hack vulnerability on his/her entry, you have no control over who wants to be a jerk and hack it- much like in real life! Unhackable pretty much gives nobody IC permission to hack. Alternatively, your character may have roomates or he/she may be typing or chortling in a public place where people can go snooping as usual. You could put in local eavesdropping permissions even if unhackable. If there is no eavesdropping permissions, then it's not possible.

Dress code
So far there's no uniform requirements in any of the known businesses aside from a green apron at Starbeans Cafe. You can really use your imagination here on casual dress but keep in mind your character will probably suffocate in a snowboard coat!

The Microgames
As we all know, Wario Ware is a developer of Mega Microgames. Right now that company has spat out more than hundreds of microgames that are generally sold and played on handheld game consoles throughout the world (but mostly enjoyed here in the city!).

Furthermore, Wario Ware has three corperate towers located around his main development center. Many of the elevator stops contain live versions of the Microgames where your character has to do what instructed. Like in the Wario Ware Brawl Stage

Mind you, quite a few people such as Mario or Captain Falcon have become quite the celebrities of our time with their adventures, so of course, the microgames from the 9-volt stages also canonly exist in this rpg. It's history told in game form.

Unemployed? Undecided?
Just list that in the occupation on your character's application and see what develops as your character gets around!

What's with all the gijinkas?
To some its a fad (Leon) and to some it's means of adaptation to a human-dominated environment (Goombario). Not everyone resorts to this, though (Bill) and its really up to the player's decision.

Many humanization enthusiasts come to Diamond City already experienced in transformations (Siren the Articuno) but the newly intrigued can catch on by learning on their own or from someone else- or resorting to commercial products or sorcery to do the job!

They say a Pokemon known very famously for humanization discussion and advice can be found working late shifts at Starbeans!

Geography
----------------

Downtown District
The big cheese of the city. All of the most famous/important attractions and coperate dealings are here. Apartment buildings mix well within all of this and many buildings get a view of the docks just to the east. Just about all the canon locales are around here.

To anyone just entering Diamond City, this is your starting point. You've probably arrived from a boat or a train or flying saucer and the first thing you see are all the buildings of Warioware. You can go anywhere from here, or you can just stay.

Annually, Downtown Diamond City celebrates friendly competition and games by being the host spot for Mario Party festivals. In honor of the world's most acclaimed hero who put his life everywhere for good intentions, several streets in central DC are closed off and made into paths of board game panels.

Uptown
While directly north of downtown, anyone could say this is called "uptown" for upping the standards of living. The goods are more expensive, the houses are bigger, and the attractions are more artsy. The museum housing a Legendary Chaos Emerald (as of July 5th, 2009) is only the beginning of what's to truly explore in the land of things you'll probably never get over the course of your pathetic middle-class life. Theatres large and small exist here as well, and don't be surprised if starving artists lurk around the streets taking photographs of you or other ordinary people living their lives because they consider it to be an art of some sort!

Unless something major is going on in a public area, Uptown is pretty quiet, but you'll probably wish there were more noise to drown out the snooty conversations amongst the townfolk.

Suburban District
West of downtown, This area is more spacey and residential than the other areas of the city, though not completely cut off from commercial access. Here you have your houses, your front lawns, your back yards and driveways. Kids run around the street doing anything for a jawbreaker, moms will bake pies, and the streets are generally safe for all! for now!

Central Park
With Downtown to the southeast, Uptown to the northeast and Suburbia just south, kinda southwest, this large park area can be seen as the geographic centerpoint of Diamond City, but it's really just a northeast corner of empty space. Points of interest include a botanical garden, playgrounds, picknicking areas, cycling roads, event spaces and a stadium.

Diamond Colluseum
Located just within Central Park, this multipurpose, trillion-dollar stadium was mechanically engineered to fit the needs of its users. Typically used for battle shows and competitions, the terrain can be altered to many forms needed to make battles more dynamic, which is especially needed for the rise of Pokemon battles that happen in the city. Today, the stadium can carry terrain alterations to resemble other places such as Yoshi's Island and Kokiri Forest.

Final Destination
Where is Final Destination? Is it in outer space? In another dimension? Battles and Brawls here have been televised and Final Destination IS the name of another existing stadium, but... that's all that people know about it until a select few are chosen to be a part of one smashing event.

The Beach
South of the docks downtown, we have a beach! ... Active all year round!

Krazy Kremland Returns
North of downtown, east of uptown, a year-round theme park full of thrill rides, games, bonus rooms, and probably a multitude of crappily-maintenanced disasters. Okay. The rides are safe. This park was built and sponsored by the Lord of Games, inspired by the original Krazy Kremland that fell with Crocodile Isle some years ago and the gaps to their two major rollercoaster rides are no more.

The park opens nightly from 6pm to 5am. While operated mostly by the Kremling race and giant bees, there may or may not be the next coming of the Lost World happening underground the premises.

Wario Ware Inc:
Five buildings make up this growing company. The main development house is the small building on top of the big hill where Wario's house once stood, meanwhile the other buildings (marked with pig statues) as as follows:
Building of Thrills - (red building) Quality Assurance and further development
One-Chance Mansion - (yellow building) Wario Ware Corperate
Variety Tower - (blue building) Used entirely as a brawl stage/Tourist Trap featuring live-action microgames.
Hotel Future - (pink building) Now why does Wario Ware have its own classy hotel, anyway?
