we were very tired, we were very merry.

Oops. Long time no post, LJ. It's been a really quick summer; time's been really flying. And I go back to school in a few weeks... it's very odd to think about it. I should get my books soon, I guess. I feel like next semester will fly by, too, and then before I know it, it'll be winter break and I'll be going on vacations and (hopefully, fingers crossed) packing and moving. Holy shit, where did 2009 go? I mean, really? I know it's only August but still, eight out of twelve months have already gone by.

I got to sleep in ridiculously late today for the first time in weeks, and it felt nice to wake up naturally, no alarm or anything. I have nothing to do today either which is also a treat. Tomorrow I think one of my friends is coming over to sleep over, and not sure what's on my plate for Monday. I need to head down to campus though, drop something off for one of my profs and also head to the stupid book store to buy some of my less expensive books. They aren't too bad this semester but my art book is like 150 bucks. At least Chels said she could lend it to me, which would be super.

I just decided now (well, like twenty minutes ago but whatever) that I'm going to start watching one movie a day and write about it. I mean there's always tons of movies that I keep meaning to watch not to mention all the DVDs I keep buying and not even opening. This idea was decided on because I happened to watch a movie yesterday and I just started one now and I rented one from iTunes that I will probably watch tomorrow. So we'll see how this goes, ha.

Yesterday I watched Vicky Cristina Barcelona, which stars, among others, ScarJo and Penelope Cruz. It wasn't a particulary great movie but it was good and at least entertaining, and there were definitely some really dramatic moments as well as comedic ones. There was a narrator which I found to be rather annoying, but the scenery was very beautiful (shot in Spain) and I liked the Spanish guitar playing that was in a few scenes. Definitely the best parts of the movie were the scenes with Penelope Cruz as Maria Elena, who is kinda crazy and we first see her after she's tried to kill herself. Penelope is just a scene stealer, and I can definitely see why she won the Oscar for her role in this movie. It was an entertaining movie and I would probably watch it again. I didn't really like how unresolved the ending seemed, though. There was a super dramatic moment right near the end and then... it just got very calm and boring with no real resolution. Oh well. Still a pretty good movie.

I'm on a Penelope Cruz kick (never actually seen any of her movies 'til now) so I'm like 10 minutes into Elegy, where she stars alongside Ben Kingsley. So far so good, although I don't like how Penelope is dressed in the movie. Her bangs look cute though. Also I love her voice, Spanish accents are pretty awesome.

Goal for the day: get dressed at some point :P though it does just seem like a lazy pajamas Saturday to me.
