1) Ok, I'm going to try my hand at one of these 30 day meme thing-a-mobobs. I found one posted by
padrejose that I think I might be able to keep up with - and maybe since this thing will force me to post everyday, I won’t end up saving 9 billion things to post about for one huge catchall post.... although it seems like I’m still about to do that right now anyway...Oh well, onto the first question!
Day 01 - A show that should have never been cancelled: pushing daisies!
The dialogue and wit were fast and razor sharp, and each character was endearing and entertaining. It was the most unique show I'd ever seen, and it was completely BRILLIANT. So, of course, it gets cancelled after 2 (very short) seasons. I've seen it described as a "modern forensic fairytale", which is pretty fitting. Ned could bring people back from the dead by touching them and helped solve ~murders~, but he was a PIE maker first - a pie maker who worked in a RESTAURANT SHAPED LIKE A PIE. Also, Lee Pace is one SRSLY tall drink of water *drools*. And oh the hilarious death deformities lolz. I think one of my favorites was the guy who'd been trampled to death by horses, but that could just be because it wasn't too squicky (or b/c it brought in Olive's past as a race horse jockey HAHA). The cast was genius and had such a great chemistry and I loved every single match-up. While Ned and Chuck were great, sometimes it seemed like the "supporting" characters totally stole it - Olive Snook (played by THE CHENOWITH, who had free reign to BURST INTO SONG), Emerson Cod, knitting PI! and the Aunts Lily and Vivien! They all brought such life to the show. PLUS, WOW the visual tone of the series! And by that, I mean THE WAY-OVERSATURATION OF COLOR - it was bright and beautiful, absolutely like nothing else on tv, and just drew you right in to the fantasy they were creating.
Oh show, you were so wonderful and I miss you! Stupid ABC.

2) TNT RENEWED SOUTHLAND FOR A THIRD SEASON! THANK YOU TNT, and yay Ben mckenzie!!! This show is so amazing, why aren't more people watching it??? This news takes some of the sting out of legend of the seaker getting axed. I hope they managed to tie everything up for this season - it would suck to end it on a cliffhanger. I will miss the absolutely amazing crack this fandom produced. It was seriously some of the finest I'd ever seen. Here's hoping the fandom carries on even though it's main source has ended.
3) Hahaha just saw the
promo for next week's glee - "You're a slut Will - nobody's safe. Nobody is safe!" HA OH JAYMA, you're fantastic.
4) This week's episode of community cemented me on the Jeff/Britta BFFs bandwagon - I think they work really well as friends - writers, I saw what you snuck into that preview for next week (it looks epicly awesome, by the way) but take note.
"My uncle was struck by lightening. You’d think it’d give him super powers, but now he just masturbates in theaters."
Oh Troy, you win this episode again!
5) Ok, so BBCAmerica has this interview with Matt Smith up from when he and Karen were in New York doing promotion. Its... something lol. The interviewer is god awful, but its worth the watch just for the hilarious part when Matt - scrawny, posh hipster brit that he is - gets all fanboy over his love of rap music. It is ridiculous and adorable all rolled into one big ball of precious!LOLZ.
