What an utterly fantastic idea!! I've been re-watching the eps as I've downloaded them (except 1x03 *grumble* - yeah still bitter about that lol).

Ryan/Taylor are so great. I think they are what Ryan/Marissa were supposed to be, if Marissa wasn't into all the insane drinking and befriending creepy guys like Oliver. Or maybe not, cos Taylor is awesome. And definitely more realistic a character than Marissa.

Ryan/Marissa could never capture the quirk or the balance that Ryan/Taylor had. Taylor and Marissa were such completely different characters that it would have been impossible for the R/M relationship to be anything like Townwood's.
