More than just another crowd/ We need a gathering instead

My show yesterday was... well it was different. I spent a lot of time putting together a really solid set list, but I didn't even have a crowd to play it to. Not too much, at least. The few people I did invite called me and said they would be there, then didn't show up.

There were a handful of people who were in and out, a few who stayed. The cashier recognized a Pedro the Lion song I played, which I thought was cool. I did end up meeting this guy who is a local producer/writer. He writes local films and scripts, and he really enjoyed the set we played. He inquired if I wrote, and asked if I would write some accompanying music for his current script, which I thought sounded pretty cool. I'm not sure if anything I have would fit into his script, but if he wanted to use it I might consider doing it.

I was thinking about my practice recently with Jimmy, the guitarist I replied to on craigslist. Hes a solid musician, and I would really like to get things rolling since he sounded motivated/interested in playing out with me. I opened the invitation to Kyle since we don't have a drummer. It would be really cool to gig out with one of my best friends, since we haven't really played out together that much aside from a few random situations.

I bought a huge Led Zeppelin and Stevie Ray Vaughan songbook, so hopefully I can polish some of those tunes off. Its cool learning a bunch of classic rock stuff that I haven't played in a while/ever. It just feels good to be progressing musically again in my life.
