Well, as I was reading my daily email form the BBC, I stumbled upon an article that said that the interrogators at Guantanemo Bay use the Harry Potter books to get prisoners to talk. That's right. Although the reading of the Harry Potter books may fill many of the world's hearts with joy, they annoy the hell out of the Guantenemo prisoners. Thank you Guantanemo guards for screwing America's not so good reputation over again.
On another sad note (a low C, I would guess)
Cian O'Connor was stripped of his gold medal. For all you non-equestian savvy people, Cian O'Connor is an Irish showjumper that rode Waterford Crystal (that's a horse) at the 2004 Olympic games in Athens. They won the gold medal, but Waterford Crystal failed his drug test. The drug, which is used to treat high blood pressure in humans, was used when Waterford Crystal was having hydrotherapy treatment on a fetlock injury a month earlier. According to O'Connor this couldn't have affected Waterford Crystal's preformance, but the IOC and FEI seem to disagree. All I have to say on the matter is that O'Connor made a great ride and is still a gold medal winner to me. Besides he handled the whole drug test situation very well.
But anywho, have a happy fourth of July tomorrow!
